Whether you're drawn to vintage pieces or contemporary designs, our collection offers the finest in Van Cleef & Arpels jewellery.
The Van Cleef & Arpels Maison was born from the marriage in 1895 of Alfred Van Cleef and Estelle Arpels in Paris. In 1905, Van Cleef and his in-laws opened their legendary boutique, still standing, on 22 Place Vendôme and established their place forever within the hearts of Parisian high society, and later the world.
From the opening of its first New York store in 1942, to its expansion into Japan and China, the Maison’s reputation for innovative design and refined luxury has not waned in recent years, seeing an increased interest in both vintage pieces and their contemporary collections.
Van Cleef & Arpels has created a legacy of iconic jewellery designs that highlight its commitment to artistry and innovation. Perhaps most famously, the Alhambra collection, launched in 1968, draws inspiration from the Alhambra Palace in Granada, Spain. This collection features the quatrefoil motif, reminiscent of a four-leaf clover and symbolising harmony and good luck. The shape’s Moorish influence and universal appeal have made Alhambra a timeless representation of Van Cleef & Arpels' design philosophy.
The Mystery Set, patented by the maison in 1933, represents a technical breakthrough in jewellery-making. This technique allows for gemstones, like rubies and sapphires, to be set without visible prongs or metal, resulting in a seamless, radiant surface that enhances the stones’ natural brilliance. The process, requiring hundreds of hours of meticulous craftsmanship, transforms each piece into a masterpiece of both aesthetic and technical precision.
The 1940s saw the introduction of Ballerina Clips, depicting ballet dancers in mid-motion, with intricate detailing that captures the fluidity and grace of dance. Later, the Rose de Noël collection, launched in the 1970s, showcased Van Cleef & Arpels’ reverence for nature with brooches and earrings in delicate flower shapes, crafted from materials like mother-of-pearl, coral, and onyx. These pieces are a tribute to the Christmas rose, highlighting the brand’s ability to capture nature’s elegance in jewellery form.
