M. Gérard was founded by Louis Gérard in 1968, following his successful tenure at Van Cleef & Arpels. Located on Avenue Montaigne in Paris, M. Gérard quickly became known for creating lavish, diamond-studded jewellery for a glamorous international clientele. His pieces often featured floral motifs and a blend of classical elegance with modern design, including the use of yellow gold. Many of his jewels were crafted by Andre Vassort, a renowned Parisian workshop. Though M. Gérard closed in 1991, his exquisite designs remain highly collectible today.
