Art Deco Platinum and Diamond Lady’s Wrist Watch by Cartier
An Art Deco, diamond-set watch by Cartier, composed of articulated, openwork links and clasp, all set with round brilliant-cut diamonds, with diamond fancy-coloured rose-cut diamond-set crown, the dial in excellent, original condition and marked Cartier France, the case bearing French hallmark stamp for platinum and numbered. 18cm in length. Circa 1920.
Cartier thrived in the Art Deco period (1930-40s). Some of the Maison’s most iconic pieces were created during this time. Vanity Cases and smoking accessories, such cigarette case and lighters provided new forms for jewellers to experiment.
