Art Deco Platinum and Diamond Openwork Bracelet
An impressive jewel from the Art Deco era. This fine bracelet is designed as three decorative openwork panel links set with round- and baguette- diamonds, each featuring a central emerald-cut diamond, connected via two square openwork links set further with round and baguette diamonds. Encrusted with a combined weight of approximately 24 carats of diamonds. Circa 1930s.
Like Art Nouveau, Art Deco was an artistic movement, not limited to jewellery. It cultivated an ideology that is characterised by a celebration of the modern and mechanical. Like the Cubist art movement, Art Deco jewellery focuses on the relationship between form and function. Clean lines and geometry are dominant.
